First Time Home Buyers Boot Camp
This camp is specifically designed for the first time buyer of Raleigh real estate or someone who has not owned a home in the last three years.
This camp will focus on setting the right expectations of the home buying process and providing you with the knowledge of "what comes next."
In addition, we have a clear explanation of the loan process, including descriptions of home loans that are designed specifically to give the first time buyer additional choices. We also discuss the qualifications for government loans that will give you more buying power. We will provide you with the knowledge to know what a lender should provide to you and what you are expected to supply to a lender.
Did you know that you do not need to provide your social security number or fill out an application to get a loan program quote? And did you know that ALL lenders should provide you with a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) in writing for each program that you are quoted? Do you know how to compare GFEs to determine which loan program best fits your purchase requirements? If not, you will by the end of boot camp.
We will also introduce you to the steps to protect yourself prior to closing on your purchase: various home inspections, the role of the home buyer's attorney, the importance of surveys, homeowner insurance differences, and extended home warranties. We discuss also special purchase programs designed for specific professionals like teachers, police, and firemen.
